2. Arkansas Baptist College - Tuition:$4,900 per year. Room/Board: $6,392 per year. This private, historically black university is the only Baptist HBCU west of the Mississippi River. They offer certificate, two-year, and four-year programs.

This Saint Louis, Missouri-based school offers two branch campuses in Little Rock. both campuses only offer masters programs in business, health, and public administration, masters of arts, and masters of science degrees.

The Little Rock campus offers programs for pharmacy technician, massage therapist, x-ray medical technician, and personal trainer.
6. University of Central Arkansas - Tuition: $5,234 per year. Room/Board: $5,030 per year. Less than an hour’s drive from Little Rock, UCA has an enrollment which approaches 13,000 students. They offer more than 100 undergraduate degree programs, 30 masters, and 5 doctoral. It offers a lot of opportunities for students willing to take advantage of them.
7. Harding University - Tuition: $13,580 per year. Room/Board: $5,814 per year. 50 miles northeast of Little Rock, Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas. With 6,300 students, HU offers more than 90 majors and grants ten undergraduate degrees.
8. Arkansas State University - Tuition: in-state $78 per credit hour, out-of-state $134 per credit hour. Room/Board: $3,144 per year. While the Beebe campus is the closest drive away, ASU also offers several other slightly farther away locations. The school offers certificates and associate degree programs.
9. Hendrix College - Tuition: $31,740 per year. Room/Board: $9,086 per year. Less than an hour north of Little Rock in Conway, AR, Hendrix College gives 100% of their students some form of financial aid. They offer 31 undergraduate majors and a student population under 1,500.
10. Pulaski Technical College - Tuition: in-state $80 per credit hour, out-of-state $131 per credit hour. This technical college offers over 70 certificates and associate degrees. It is the largest two-year college in Arkansas, enrolling over 11,000 students. They have seven different locations in the Little Rock area.
